Product Overview
The Mitech MT-1C is a lightweight and highly portable magnetic particle flaw detector powered by a high-capacity lithium battery pack. Designed to convert DC into AC through variable-frequency technology, it provides a stable power supply for accurate magnetic testing. With over 4 hours of continuous working time on a single charge, it is ideal for field operations and aerial applications. Its compact form, reliable flaw detection capabilities, and efficient design make it an essential tool in industries requiring surface defect inspection on ferromagnetic materials.
Applications
The MT-1C is widely applied in various industries for surface flaw detection, including:
Aerospace & Aviation
Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspection
Oil & Gas Fields
Shipbuilding and Offshore Equipment
Railways and Bridges
Automotive and Heavy Machinery Parts
Petrochemical Pipes and Valves
Steel Structures and Standard Components
Typical test objects include crankshafts, gears, springs, forged parts, welding seams, anchor chains, bearings, and turbine blades.
Working Principle
When a ferromagnetic workpiece is magnetized using the MT-1C, flaws such as cracks or slag inclusions interrupt the magnetic field, creating a leakage field at or near the surface. Magnetic powder (typically iron oxide-based) is applied to the surface, and these particles gather at the leakage points, forming visible indications of defects. These markings are then analyzed under appropriate lighting to determine the position, size, and shape of the flaw.

Operation Instructions & Precautions
Connect cables and power on the detector
Select appropriate pole spacing based on workpiece size and shape
For dry powder testing, apply magnetic powder evenly and move the yoke slowly (~40 mm/s) while observing for particle buildup
Ensure overlap in testing areas (overlap zone < 25 mm) for thorough coverage
Remove excess powder to clarify defect marks
If detection is unclear, polish the surface and re-test
If confirmed as a defect, press “Confirm” to save image
