Product Mitech XXQ-1605 X-ray Flaw Detector
The Mitech XXQ-1605 is a portable inflatable X-ray generator designed for high-precision non-destructive testing (NDT). It detects internal flaws in materials by measuring the difference in X-ray absorption due to variations in thickness and density. The device delivers true, clear imaging on X-ray film, allowing defects in welds, castings, and structural components to be accurately visualized and recorded.
Engineered with a compact, lightweight structure and robust anti-interference capabilities, the XXQ-1605 is especially suited for demanding field environments and high-altitude operations. Its intuitive design and reliable performance make it a preferred tool across shipbuilding, aerospace, manufacturing, petrochemical, railways, and national defense industries.
Functions & Applications
The XXQ-1605 is ideal for the detection of internal defects in various materials and components, including:
Weld seams
Metal castings
Structural components
Industries served:
Shipbuilding
Aviation & aerospace
Rail transport
Mechanical engineering

Key Features
Microcomputer Control System: Enhances precision, reliability, and usability.
Compact and Lightweight: Portable design for easy on-site operation.
Over-Temperature Protection: Automatically disables high-voltage output if internal temperature exceeds safe limits.
Stable Current Control (mA): Adjusts pulse frequency via filament voltage for consistent X-ray intensity.
Adjustable Voltage Control (kV): Provides continuous tube voltage adjustment to suit various testing requirements.
Anti-Interference Circuitry: Protects the control system from high-voltage spikes.
Full Protection Suite: Displays fault codes for quick troubleshooting.
Safe Operation Ratio: Enforces a 1:1 working-to-rest time cycle to prevent overheating.
High-Voltage Start Delay: Gives operators time to move to a safe distance before X-ray emission begins.
Isolated High-Voltage Circuit: Ensures safe and reliable operation by separating control and power systems.
Power Grid Compatibility: Functions reliably with generators and in unstable power environments.
Operation Guidelines
Turn on the power and wait for the system to initialize (approx. 15 seconds).
Set the desired exposure time and warm up the device to ensure tube integrity.
Adjust the required kV and mA settings to match the material specifications.
Press “HV ON” to start the delayed high-voltage countdown.
After exposure, the system automatically disables high voltage and enters a cooling phase.
Follow a 1:1 duty cycle for operation and rest times.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
If the unit malfunctions, do not disassemble it. Contact Mitech’s service center. Here are common issues and their likely causes:
| Issue | Possible Cause |
|---|---|
| Fan not working, no display | Faulty cable, broken power switch, or 3A fuse blown |
| Error Codes: “LA”, “HA”, “PU”, “PT” | Respectively: No mA, overcurrent, overvoltage, or overheating |
| Buzzer sounds, 20A fuse blown | X-ray generator or controller failure; low internal air pressure |
| “LA” after pressing HV ON | Poor cable connection, tube or controller failure, blown 20A fuse |
| Electric leakage | Improper grounding or insulation failure |
Note: Never attempt internal repair. All service must be carried out by qualified Mitech technicians.
