Product Overview
The Mitech XXQ-2505 is a portable inflatable X-ray generator designed for non-destructive testing (NDT). It works by detecting differences in X-ray absorption across materials to reveal internal flaws such as cracks, voids, or inclusions. Its compact design, lightweight structure, and easy operation make it especially ideal for use in harsh field environments, including high-altitude and power plant settings.
The high-resolution imaging displayed on specialized film clearly outlines defect size and shape for long-term archiving and analysis. Its performance is not affected by surface roughness or grain size of the material, making it a versatile solution for industrial flaw detection.
Functions & Applications
Widely applied in industries such as:
Shipbuilding
Machinery manufacturing
Aerospace and railways
Pressure vessels and boilers
Petroleum and chemical plants
Defense and military sectors
Ideal for detecting internal defects in metals and welds.
Working Principle
The X-ray generator emits radiation that passes through the test object and is captured on special X-ray film. Variations in density or thickness result in differing levels of exposure on the film, highlighting internal discontinuities. The equipment uses a silicon-controlled single-phase bridge rectifier, thyristor chopper circuit, and high-voltage transformer to power the X-ray tube, where high-speed electrons hit the anode and generate X-rays.
As the X-rays pass through the material, they gradually weaken. The exposed film undergoes chemical development to reveal blackened areas proportional to radiation received, forming a visible defect image for analysis.
Operating Conditions
Ambient temperature: -25°C to 40°C
Relative humidity: ≤85%
Safe working pressure: 0.35 – 0.50 MPa
Note: Do not operate under 0.35 MPa pressure.

Operation Guidelines
Turn on the generator – display shows “HH”, fan and warning lights activate.
Wait 15 seconds for standby mode; adjust exposure time using the control knob.
Preheat the machine before use to ensure vacuum stability in the tube.
Set the desired kV value.
Press “HV” to begin exposure; the system will count down automatically.
After exposure, the generator stops high voltage output, enters rest mode, then returns to standby for the next operation.
Delay Start Function:
Press “HV” for 3 seconds to enter delay setting (0.1 to 5 minutes).
Delay starts with flashing indicators and buzzer.
Automatically initiates high voltage when the countdown ends.
To Cancel Delay:
Turn off and on again to reset.
Or press “HV” again to show “00” and release.
Safety Notes
Use proper radiation shielding (e.g., 2mm lead plate).
If no shielding is used, ensure a 20-meter safety radius around the generator.
Always verify air pressure is ≥0.35 MPa before operation.
Ground the controller properly for safety.
Check cable connections and keep sockets clean.
Keep the power on during rest time to allow cooling fan operation.
Voltage fluctuation may trigger protective shutdown but is not a fault.
