DURAN 212274403 Wide Neck Erlenmeyer Flask 500 mL
The DURAN 212274403 is a 500 mL Erlenmeyer flask from the Super Duty series, featuring a wide-neck design. Manufactured using borosilicate glass 3.3 (Type I / neutral glass), it offers excellent chemical resistance, low thermal expansion, and durability under heat and chemical exposure. The “Super Duty” version includes a reinforced, sturdy rim to increase impact resistance and reduce the risk of breakage under frequent use or during automated washing.
This flask is equipped with approximate white printed graduations for rough volume estimation (not precision measurement), and a fired-on white ceramic label field for durable sample identification. It includes a retrace / batch code for traceability. The wide neck improves ease of filling, stirring, and cleaning. The flask is autoclavable and built for heavy use in demanding laboratory settings.

Applications & Use Cases
Ideal for general lab tasks involving mixing, heating, or storing ~ 500 mL of liquids.
Especially useful in labs where durability is important (teaching labs, QC labs, labs using automated glassware washers).
Wide neck makes it easier to add solids / reagents, perform manual stirring, and clean.
Useful where approximate volume marking is sufficient rather than requiring analytic precision.
Limitations & Handling Notes
The graduations are approximate; the flask is not intended for precision volumetric analysis (e.g. titrac on).
Despite the reinforced design, glass is still fragile; avoid impacts or thermal shock (large temperature changes).
When full or hot, handling should be with care (use two hands, stable surface).
