DURAN 212833655 Baffled Flask 250 mL
The DURAN 212833655 is a 250 mL baffled flask (Erlenmeyer-style) made from DURAN® borosilicate glass, designed to improve oxygen transfer and mixing in shaken or stirred cultures. It features four bottom baffles that disrupt laminar flow and generate turbulence, increasing surface-area contact and hence improving gas exchange compared to standard flasks.
It has a GL 45 thread (neck) finish and comes with a membrane screw cap which allows filtered ventilation (gas exchange) while closed. The wall thickness is increased for mechanical stability and long service life. The flask has printed graduations for approximate volume estimation, though these are not intended for high-precision measurement. Autoclavable.

Applications & Advantages

Glass is still fragile; avoid thermal shock and mechanical knocks.
Cap / membrane closures need correct handling to ensure gas flow, avoid over-tight sealing damaging membrane.
