The Centrifuge 5420 is tailored to meet the demands of routine molecular biology applications, including DNA/RNA purification, DNA extraction from agarose gels, and PCR reaction preparation. Its compact design conserves valuable lab bench space, and the easy-to-clean keypad control panel ensures user convenience. The centrifuge accommodates up to 24 tubes ranging from 1.5 to 2.0 mL, with optional adapters available for 0.4 and 0.5 mL tubes as well as 0.6 mL BD Microtainer®. A rotor for 32 PCR tubes (0.2 mL) or four PCR strips is also available. For added safety, the standard rotor is aerosol-tight, providing containment during the centrifugation of hazardous samples such as viruses, pathogenic bacteria, or radioactive probes.
