The 7205 model covers a wavelength range of 198 to 800nm with a spectral bandwidth of 5nm, while its counterpart, the 7200 model, covers a wavelength range of 335 to 800nm with a 7nm spectral bandwidth.

These spectrophotometers are ideal for a wide range of applications in educational settings, as well as routine testing in clinical, veterinary, pharmaceutical, and quality control (QC) laboratories. They offer versatile measurement modes including single wavelength for basic absorbance and % transmittance, concentration calculations using a standard or a factor, optical density, quantitation with calibration curves (up to 6 standards and 3 replicates), full spectrum scanning, and kinetics with the ability to measure up to 3 wavelengths simultaneously.

The 72 series features a user-friendly color touchscreen interface that allows for quick and intuitive setup and navigation. The 4-inch display enables easy viewing of full spectrum scans, quantitation curves, and kinetic runs. The touchscreen functionality also lets users zoom in, zoom out, and select spectral analysis points with a simple tap on the screen.

The large sample chamber accommodates optional accessories such as a long path length cuvette holder and a heated 10x10mm cuvette holder, ideal for thermostated measurements at 37°C. The chamber lid can remain open during measurements, which is particularly useful for samples in tall test tubes.

Additionally, the spectrophotometer is equipped with two USB ports for data storage and printer connectivity. The front USB port provides easy access for storing results and quantitation curves.
