Mitech MCT200 Coating Thickness Gauge

Precise, Durable, and Versatile Coating Thickness Measurement

Product Overview

The Mitech MCT200 is a high-precision, non-destructive coating thickness gauge designed for fast and accurate measurement of coatings and films. With support for multiple external probes and dual measurement principles (magnetic induction and eddy current), it is highly adaptable for different materials and industrial needs.

This compact, rugged instrument is ideal for quality control, process monitoring, and maintenance inspection across a range of industries, including manufacturing, metal processing, chemicals, and commodity inspection.

Key Features

  • Interchangeable Probes for Versatility:
Supports five probe types (F400, F1, F10, N1, CN02) for various applications. The F10 probe allows for measurements up to 10 mm.

  • Dual Measurement Technology:

    • Magnetic Induction for non-magnetic coatings on magnetic metal substrates

    • Eddy Current for non-conductive coatings on non-magnetic metal substrates

  • Multiple Calibration Options:
Includes two calibration methods and system error correction for enhanced accuracy.

  • Measurement Modes:
Supports both single and continuous measurement modes to suit different workflows.

  • Easy-to-Read LCD Display:
Large display with EL backlight for visibility in low-light environments.

  • Data Management & Communication:

    • Internal memory stores up to 1,000 readings

    • USB 1.1 communication port

    • Compatible with Data-Pro software for data transmission, storage management, analysis, and report printing

  • Energy-Efficient:
Operates up to 200 hours with auto-sleep and auto power-off functions to extend battery life.

  • Durable Design:
Built with a compact aluminum case, ideal for harsh or demanding working conditions.

Applications

  • Manufacturing & Automotive:
Verify coating thickness for paints, protective layers, and more.

  • Chemical & Petrochemical Industries:
Inspect anti-corrosion coatings on pipelines, tanks, and equipment.

  • Quality Control:
    Ensure product compliance before delivery.

  • Surface Treatment & Electroplating:
Monitor coating process precision in real time.

Working Principle

Depending on the selected probe, the MCT200 operates using either magnetic induction or eddy current principles to measure the thickness of coatings on metal substrates. These technologies allow precise, non-destructive evaluation without affecting the material or coating integrity.

Operating Conditions

  • Operating Temperature: -10℃ to +50℃

  • Storage Temperature: -30℃ to +60℃

  • Humidity: ≤90% RH

  • Avoid environments with heavy vibration, strong magnetic fields, corrosive chemicals, or excessive dust.

Calibration & Usage Tips

  • Enter calibration mode by pressing CAL and then Start while the device is off.

  • Calibrate using standard foils in ascending order: 0, 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 μm.

  • Handle probes carefully and keep contact surfaces clean for accurate readings.

  • Avoid unplugging connectors forcefully and store in dry, clean environments.

Maintenance

  • Replace batteries promptly when low and remove them during long-term storage to prevent leakage.

  • Keep calibration foils clean and free of rust or scratches.

  • Store and transport the device in its original packaging to protect from impact and environmental damage.
