Product Overview
The Mitech MW-BB75 Webster Hardness Tester is a compact, clamp-style hardness measuring tool designed specifically for aluminum alloys and related materials. As part of the MW series, this model offers accurate, non-destructive testing (NDT) on-site without the need for sample preparation or specialized training. The MW-BB75 is ideal for quality control in manufacturing, acceptance inspections, and field applications—especially in industries such as aluminum profile fabrication, windows, doors, curtain walls, and engineering projects.
Its ergonomic, handheld design and fast operation make it an essential tool for improving product qualification rates and reducing inspection costs.
Functions & Applications
Evaluate whether a workpiece has undergone proper heat treatment
Detect incorrect alloy compositions
Test large, long, or heavy components that are difficult to sample
Perform acceptance inspections in aluminum fabrication plants
Used in quality control for window, door, and curtain wall manufacturers
Suitable for engineering supervision and technical inspection agencies
Working Principle
The MW-BB75 uses the indentation method to determine material hardness. Under spring-loaded pressure, the tester creates an impression on the workpiece surface. The depth of this indentation is inversely proportional to the material’s hardness. The resulting hardness value, expressed in HW (Webster Hardness), can be directly read from the analog dial and converted to other standard hardness scales (e.g., HV, HR).
If the hardness exceeds the upper limit, the pointer reaches 20 HW
If the material is too soft, the pointer will stay at 0 HW
Key Features
Rugged and corrosion-resistant: Maintains accuracy even after 4 hours in 5% saltwater and 100 drop tests from 0.5 meters
Compact and portable: Lightweight and designed for one-handed operation
Fast and non-destructive testing: No need to cut or alter the sample
Easy to operate: Minimal training required and minimal operator influence on results
Flexible testing: Suitable for parts of various shapes and sizes
Accurate and reliable: Includes calibration sets for error correction
Clear readings: Separate display avoids blocking the dial during testing
