Cannon 9721-F80 CFOC- 500 Calibrated
The Cannon 9721-F80 CFOC-500 Calibrated is a precision Cannon-Fenske Opaque Viscometer designed to measure the kinematic viscosity of dark Newtonian liquids. Specifically, this reverse-flow viscometer is used when the liquid meniscus cannot be seen at the timing marks. Therefore, it is ideal for samples that cannot be tested using routine-type viscometers. Moreover, the instrument complies with ASTM D445, ASTM D446, ISO 3104, and ISO 3105, ensuring accurate and standardized viscosity measurements.
Product Features
First, the reverse-flow design allows reliable flow-time measurement for opaque liquids. In addition, the viscometer is suitable for testing cutback asphalts and road oils at 60 °C (140 °F). Consequently, it meets the requirements of ASTM D2170. Furthermore, it is commonly used to study lubricating and hydraulic oils at low temperatures. In particular, it supports evaluation of additive effects on oil behavior. Meanwhile, external pressure can be applied to vary shear stress and shear rate. As a result, the viscometer enables broader rheological analysis. Each unit is factory calibrated and supplied with a calibration certificate and instruction sheet, thereby supporting traceable testing.
Specifications
The viscometer requires a minimum sample volume of 12 mL. Additionally, a minimum bath depth of 229 mm (9 in) is required for correct operation. The instrument is calibrated at 40 °C. Moreover, it features an approximate constant of 8 cSt/s. Consequently, it covers a viscosity range of 1600 to 8000 cSt. This range corresponds to flow times between 200 and 1000 seconds. Expanded uncertainty information is available upon request. Viscometers with special constants can also be supplied. However, the holder is sold separately. Compatible holders include 9726-M50 and 9726-M53. Replacement micro stoppers are available as 9726-N98.
Applications
Therefore, this viscometer is suitable for asphalt and petroleum testing laboratories. In addition, it supports lubricant formulation and additive research. Moreover, it is used for hydraulic oil analysis and quality control testing. In particular, it is recommended for high-viscosity, dark, or opaque fluids tested under international standards.
