The EIE-TAV-01 Automatic Total Acid Value Tester for Jet Fuel, developed independently by the Canadian EIE Company, utilizes advanced “machine vision” technology. This technology, which leverages a high-speed micro-industrial computer and industrial-grade high-fidelity cameras, establishes a mathematical model to analyze digital images and automatically determine the end color, thereby calculating the total acid value. The accuracy achieved is more than five times the current standard’s repeatability, eliminating the need for manual visual recognition.

The instrument adheres to ASTM D3242 and GB/T 12574 standards, replicating the manual titration process to replace manual measurements entirely. This innovation not only reduces labor intensity and enhances work efficiency but also removes individual physiological and system errors associated with manual color recognition. As a result, it significantly improves the accuracy, repeatability, and reliability of the data.

Operation is straightforward: after preparing the sample as specified, the operator places the sample bottle on the instrument’s measurement turntable. With a one-button start feature, the “Start” button on the touch LCD screen initiates the automatic processes—indicator filling, nitrogen aeration, stirring, titration, end color detection, and acid value calculation and storage. The entire procedure requires no manual intervention, and a voice prompt signals the end of the measurement.
