Machine vision technology, an advanced field within automation and AI, simulates human eye behavior by recognizing and processing captured images. This technology surpasses human capture rates and resolution, achieving high precision and repeatability in tasks traditionally reliant on human observation.

The open cup flash point tester uses industrial color cameras to capture real-time images. It employs computer vision and pattern recognition algorithms to accurately detect the instantaneous flash point (or ignition point). After extensive testing, unique software was developed, creating a mathematical model to determine the flash point. The software calculates the flash point with high accuracy by analyzing the area, color, and brightness of the instantaneous flame, capturing frames at over 100 FPS. This sensitivity ensures reliable flash point detection and synchronous temperature reading, minimizing missed flash points.

The device features a unique disturbance elimination algorithm, using real-time machine vision to monitor the gas source igniter’s flame state. It automatically re-ignites the flame if extinguished, preventing high flash point errors due to missed temperature detection, resulting in more accurate and reliable measurements.

Equipped with high-speed, large-capacity computer hardware, the tester saves video and image data of the measured flash point, allowing playback and review. This capability enhances the validity and reliability of flash point results, providing legal significance and reducing disputes.
