Mitech MAS800 Portable Spectrometer

Product Overview

The Mitech MAS800 Portable Spectrometer, also known as a handheld alloy analyzer, is a professional-grade X-ray fluorescence (XRF) instrument designed for rapid, accurate, and non-destructive elemental analysis. Built with advanced micro-X-ray technology, high-speed processing chips, and cutting-edge spectral analysis algorithms, the MAS800 offers laboratory-grade performance in a compact, field-ready form factor.

Capable of analyzing solid, liquid, or powder samples, the MAS800 supports a broad detection range from light elements (Mg) to heavy elements (U). Its user-friendly interface, intelligent software, and rugged design make it ideal for on-site inspections, material verification, and quality control across industries such as metallurgy, petrochemicals, aerospace, defense, and recycling.

Key Features

  • Broad Elemental Detection: Measures elements from Mg to U in various material forms (solid, powder, liquid).

  • Advanced X-ray Source: Equipped with a micro X-ray tube imported from the USA for stable, high-precision analysis.

  • Ultra-High Resolution Detector: Ensures sharp spectral resolution and highly accurate element identification.

  • High-Speed Analysis: Fast results enabled by a high-performance A8 processor and advanced algorithms.

  • Intelligent Touchscreen Interface: 3.5-inch industrial resistive touchscreen – anti-glare and ideal for outdoor use.

  • Double Beam™ Safety System: Auto-detects sample presence and adjusts screen brightness for improved safety and usability.

  • Long Battery Life: High-capacity lithium battery supports up to 8 hours of continuous operation.

  • Compact and Lightweight: Weighing only 1.6 kg (including battery), ideal for handheld use in field operations.

  • Remote Monitoring & Control: Allows remote setting adjustment and technical support via Internet connection.

  • Built to Last: Complies with GBZ115-2002, GB18871-2002, and other international radiation safety standards.

Applications

  • PMI (Positive Material Identification) in pressure vessels, pipelines, and high-stress manufacturing environments

  • Metal and alloy verification in aerospace, defense, and shipbuilding industries

  • Scrap metal sorting and recycling

  • In-process QC and QA during casting, forging, and machining

  • On-site analysis in power plants, refineries, pharmaceutical, and chemical plants

  • National defense and key infrastructure material inspection

Working Principle

The MAS800 utilizes X-ray fluorescence (XRF) technology, where X-rays emitted by the internal tube excite the atoms in the test material. The resulting energy levels and wavelength differences from these excited atoms are then analyzed to determine the elemental composition and concentration. Thanks to its Digital Multi-Channel Analysis (MCA) and Ultra-short Optical Path, it can detect even light elements like Mg, Al, Si, S, and P with exceptional sensitivity—without the need for a nitrogen atmosphere.

Working Conditions

  • Operating Temperature: -10°C ~ 50°C

  • Humidity: ≤ 95% RH (non-condensing)

  • Environments: Suitable for field and factory use; resistant to dust and moderate shock

Operating Guidelines

  • Always perform standard calibration before and after testing.

  • Avoid using in explosive or corrosive environments.

  • Maintain cleanliness, especially at the detector window to ensure accurate readings.

  • Use a soft cloth for cleaning – no solvents or detergents.

  • Disconnect the battery if stored for long periods; store in a cool, dry place.

  • Avoid performing analysis while charging the battery.

  • If in daily high-frequency use (>50 tests/day), a full calibration service is recommended every 2–3 years.

  • For repairs, contact Mitech’s service department; do not disassemble the unit on your own.
