Mitech XXHA-1605 Inflatable X-Ray Flaw Detector
Product Overview
The Mitech XXHA-1605 is a highly portable inflatable X-ray flaw detector tailored for nondestructive testing (NDT) in industrial environments. It operates on the principle of X-ray absorption differences in various materials and thicknesses to reveal internal flaws such as cracks, porosity, or inclusions.
Thanks to its compact size, lightweight build, and user-friendly interface, the XXHA-1605 is especially suitable for field operations, including those conducted in challenging or high-altitude environments. It provides clear, reliable defect imaging on X-ray film, which can be preserved long-term without stringent requirements on surface finish or material grain size.
With strong anti-interference performance and operational stability, the XXHA-1605 is ideal for use in shipbuilding, machinery, aerospace, pressure vessels, chemical plants, national defense, and more—making it a top-tier choice for accurate and dependable flaw detection.
Key Features

Anti-Interference Design: Minimizes signal noise and enhances system stability.
Complete Safety Protection: Built-in error code display for faults like over-temperature, over-current, or voltage irregularities.
Delayed Start Function: Allows operators to move to a safe distance before X-rays are emitted.
Isolated High-Voltage Design: Increases system safety during operation.
Grid Compatibility: Adaptable to various power supply conditions, ideal for field generators.
Working Principle
The XXHA-1605 generates X-rays using a silicon-controlled rectifier and a high-voltage pulse transformer. High-speed electrons are accelerated between the cathode and anode in the X-ray tube, producing X-rays when they strike the anode. These X-rays penetrate the material being inspected and are partially absorbed depending on its thickness and composition.
The differences in absorption are captured on X-ray film coated with a special double-sided emulsion and intensified using a lead foil screen. After developing, defects such as voids or cracks appear as dark spots due to higher exposure. This photographic effect allows technicians to interpret the size, shape, and location of internal defects—forming the foundation of radiographic testing.

Operating Conditions
Operating Temperature: -25°C to +40°C
Relative Humidity: ≤ 85%
Safe Operating Pressure: 0.35 – 0.50 MPa
Do not operate below 0.35 MPa
To Cancel Delay:
Restart the device, or
Press and release “HV ON” when “00” appears.
Safety Guidelines
Use appropriate radiation shielding (e.g., 2 mm lead plate).
If no shielding is available, maintain a 20-meter safety radius.
Ensure proper grounding of the control unit.
Keep cables secure and clean.
Do not disconnect power during cooling cycles to ensure fan operation.
Voltage fluctuations may trigger protection circuits—this is normal and not a malfunction.
