Mitech XXQ-3005 Portable X-Ray Flaw Detector
Product Overview
The Mitech XXQ-3005 is a portable inflatable X-ray generator designed for non-destructive testing (NDT). It utilizes the varying absorption levels of different materials and thicknesses to detect internal flaws in components and welded structures. The system produces high-resolution radiographic images on specialized film, revealing the size, shape, and location of internal defects with clarity and precision.
Engineered for versatility and portability, the XXQ-3005 features a compact design, light weight, and intuitive operation. It is especially suitable for field inspections, including high-altitude and remote applications. The system requires no special surface preparation and is largely unaffected by material grain size, making it ideal for a wide range of industrial inspection needs.
Applications
The XXQ-3005 is widely used across industries such as:
Shipbuilding
Aerospace and aviation
Railway inspection
Machinery and heavy equipment manufacturing
Pressure vessels and boilers
Oil and gas
Chemical processing
National defense and military applications
Working Principle
The detector operates by generating high-voltage X-rays via a silicon-controlled rectifier circuit. Electrons are accelerated in the X-ray tube and collide with the anode, generating X-rays. These rays penetrate the test material, with their intensity reduced based on the internal structure.
The variations in X-ray intensity are captured on special film coated with silver halide emulsion. Areas receiving higher exposure turn darker during processing. This contrast allows accurate visualization and assessment of internal flaws, enabling inspectors to determine the type, size, and position of defects.
Environmental and Operating Conditions
Ambient Temperature: -25°C to 40°C
Relative Humidity: ≤ 85%

Operation Instructions
Connect the system and power on. Ensure the fan and display are functioning.
Allow 15 seconds for the system to enter standby mode.
Preheat the tube to ensure vacuum stability.
Set the desired tube voltage (kV) and exposure time.
Press the high-voltage (HV) button to start exposure. The system will automatically stop after the preset duration.
Use the delayed start function (0.1 to 5 minutes) to exit the radiation area safely before activation.
Cancel the delay by restarting the unit or pressing the HV button again.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance
Common Issues and Possible Causes:
| Issue | Possible Cause |
|---|---|
| No display or fan | Power switch failure, cable issue, or 3A fuse blown |
| Error code “LA” | No mA current detected |
| Error code “HA” | Excessive mA current |
| Error code “PU” | Overvoltage condition |
| Error code “PT” | Overtemperature condition |
| Fuse blows or buzzer sounds | X-ray generator or controller failure, low air pressure |
| LA code on HV start | Cable not connected properly, controller circuit failure |
| Electrical leakage | Improper grounding or poor insulation |
