This portable device detects and counts ultrafine particles (smaller than 1 micrometer), which often indicate the presence of pollutants causing complaints.
Ultrafine particles are defined as those with diameters less than 0.1 μm (100 nm). Engineered nanoparticles (nanomaterials) are a subset of these particles, ranging from 1 to 100 nm.
