Mitech MFD800C Ultrasonic Flaw Detector
The MFD800C Ultrasonic Flaw Detector from Mitech is an intelligent digital device designed for precise and efficient flaw detection. This advanced detector has been meticulously developed over many years and combines unique design features with sophisticated manufacturing. As a result, users benefit from convenient operation and powerful functionality. Since its inception, it has garnered positive feedback from customers for its ability to swiftly and accurately test, orient, evaluate, and diagnose various internal flaws such as cracks, voids, and air pockets in workpieces without causing any damage.
Key Features
- Display and Interface: The detector features a full digital 640×480 TFT LCD display. Users can select the operating interface style and adjust the LCD brightness according to the environment. Additionally, the human-centered interface design allows for a clear waveform display, making it easy to identify defects on the full screen.
- Single-Hand Operation: The MFD800C allows users to hold it with one hand, facilitating curve creation, probe calibration, and other routine operations automatically.
- High-Performance Processor: Powered by a core CPU with a 400 MHz main frequency, this device processes complex tasks quickly and realizes intelligent defect analysis.
- Long Battery Life: The low-power design, combined with a high-capacity lithium-ion battery module, enables the device to operate continuously for more than 8 hours.
- User-Friendly Interface: With a full English master-slave menu, the device enhances the user experience. It features shortcut keys, a digital shuttle rotary wheel, and three operational modes to accommodate different user preferences. Furthermore, it supports multiple languages.
- Durable Design: Its waterproof, oil-proof, and dust-proof features achieve an IP65 protection level, ensuring it can withstand challenging environments.
Function & Applications
The MFD800C is widely used for locating and sizing hidden cracks, voids, disbands, and other discontinuities in various materials, including welds, forgings, billets, axles, shafts, tanks, pressure vessels, turbines, and structural components.
Working Principle
The device operates by sending ultrasonic waves through the workpiece. When these waves encounter a defect, the difference in acoustic resistance at the interface causes reflection. The probe receives the reflected energy, which is then displayed as a reflection waveform on the screen, indicating the depth of the defect. Notably, the height and shape of the reflected wave vary based on the characteristics of the defect.
Working Conditions
- Operating Temperature: -10°C to 50°C
- Storage Temperature: -30°C to 50°C
- Relative Humidity: 20% to 95% RH
- The environment should be free from strong vibrations, magnetic fields, corrosive materials, and heavy dust.
Instrument Features
- Gate Alarm: Users can adjust the gate position, width, and height. The B gate allows for wave-getting or wave-losing alarms, with both beep and LED light notifications for effective alerts, especially in noisy environments.
- Data Storage: The MFD800C includes extensive data storage capabilities. Users can save up to 1000 groups of flaw detection parameters and 10,000 pictures of detecting echo signals. The data remains intact even if the device loses power, ensuring reliable data management.
- Video Function: The instrument supports saving the inspection process as video files, which can be played back on the device or uploaded to a computer for further analysis. Users can save up to 100 video files with a total playback time of about 15 hours.
- Real-Time Clock: This feature records the date and time of each detection, adding convenience for tracking inspection history.
- Communication: The high-speed USB2.0 interface supports both U disk mode and data connection mode, facilitating easy data transfer to PCs.
Maintenance and Care
To ensure longevity and optimal performance, users should follow proper maintenance protocols. For cleaning, use a moist cloth with recommended cleaners—avoid solvents or dye-penetrated cleaners.
Furthermore, regularly charge the lithium batteries, especially before the initial startup or after prolonged storage. In case of any operational issues, turn off the device and disconnect the battery, then power it back on after a minute.
