MITECH MH180 Leeb Hardness Tester
Brand: Mitech
Model: MH180
The MH180 Leeb Hardness Tester is a portable device designed to measure the hardness of metallic materials quickly and easily using the Leeb hardness principle. It supports the conversion between various hardness scales such as Leeb, Brinell, Rockwell, and more. This compact and lightweight device features a high-contrast LCD for clear readings and is suitable for on-site hardness testing in fields such as metal manufacturing, failure analysis, equipment assembly, and pressure vessels. The instrument is cost-effective, reliable, and easy to use, making it ideal for both routine industrial hardness testing and professional analysis.
Key Features:
- Portable and Lightweight: Weighs only 245g with compact dimensions of 150mm × 74mm × 32mm.
- Wide Measuring Range: Measures hardness in the range of 170 ~ 960 HLD.
- High Accuracy: Resolution accuracy of ±6 HLD.
- Data Storage & Communication: Stores up to 100 measurement series with USB data transfer capability.
- Long Battery Life: Operates for up to 100 hours with default brightness settings.
- Durable Design: Built with ABS plastic for durability, withstanding operating temperatures of -10℃ to +50℃.
Applications:
- Die cavities of molds
- Bearings and other parts
- Failure analysis of pressure vessels, steam generators, and other equipment
- Heavy workpieces
- Installed machinery and permanently assembled parts
- Surface testing of small hollow spaces
- Material identification in warehouses
- Quick testing over wide ranges and multiple measurement areas of large workpieces
Working Principle:
The Leeb hardness principle involves an impact body striking the test surface under a defined force. The hardness value is calculated by measuring the velocity of the impact body before and after contact. The formula is as follows:
HL = 1000 × VB / VA
Where:
- HL = Leeb hardness value
- VB = Rebound velocity
- VA = Impact velocity
