Applications

The CJX-A Magnetic Particle Flaw Detector is widely utilized across industries that require high-precision flaw detection, including:

  • Aerospace: Aircraft manufacturing and maintenance
  • Oil & Gas: Pipeline integrity assessments and valve inspections
  • Automotive & Machinery: Gears, bearings, crankshafts, and high-stress components
  • Shipbuilding & Marine: Structural inspections for welded components and anchor chains
  • Energy & Power Plants: Boilers, turbines, and pressure vessel evaluations
  • Railway & Bridges: Structural flaw assessments and welding inspections
  • Manufacturing & Engineering: Heavy machinery, standard components, and petrochemical piping

Working Principle

The CJX-A operates by magnetizing the workpiece, generating a strong magnetic field around it. When defects such as cracks or slag inclusions are present, they disrupt the magnetic flux, creating leakage fields. Applying magnetic powder (typically iron oxide) allows the particles to accumulate at the defect location, forming visible traces. This enables inspectors to accurately determine the position, size, shape, and severity of the flaw under proper lighting conditions.

Operating Conditions

  • Power Supply: AC 220V
  • Voltage Check: Ensure proper voltage levels before use to maintain accuracy and device safety.
  • Workpiece Contact: The probe must be in direct contact with the workpiece to ensure optimal magnetization and defect detection.
  • Overcurrent Protection Circuit: Prevents overload and excessive temperature rise.
  • Environmental Storage: Store in a clean, dry environment free from corrosive materials.
  • Overheating Safety: If the detector overheats, stop usage and inspect for possible causes.

Operating Instructions & Precautions

  1. Setup & Connection: Connect the device to a stable power source, ensuring proper voltage levels.
  2. Probe Placement: Secure the probe on the workpiece before activating magnetization.
  3. Flaw Detection: Apply magnetic powder and observe defect accumulation under proper lighting.
  4. Timing Considerations: Ensure magnetizing time ≤ 3 seconds and clearance time ≥ 5 seconds to maintain detection accuracy.
  5. Overcurrent Protection: The device automatically prevents no-load operation and overheating.
  6. Safe Operation: Do not turn off the switch or unplug cables while the magnetizing process is active.
  7. Proper Grounding: Ensure the device casing is properly grounded for safe operation.
  8. Troubleshooting: If an issue arises that cannot be resolved, contact the manufacturer for assistance.

Maintenance & Care

  • Cable Handling: Avoid unplugging the cable unnecessarily while in use.
  • Regular Cleaning: Use a soft cloth to clean the device and remove oil and dust after each use.
  • Storage Precautions: Keep the detector in a dry, dust-free environment to prevent corrosion.
  • Voltage Safety: Handle the device carefully during maintenance and high-voltage repairs.
  • Periodic Inspection: Regularly check for cable integrity, power stability, and probe function.
  • Lubrication: Use oil to lubricate the turning joint for smooth operation.
  • Battery Maintenance: If unused for long periods, charge every three months to prevent component degradation.
  • Safe Rebooting: Wait at least 5 seconds after shutting down before restarting the device.
